Importance of Seeking Medical Treatment Immediately After an Accident In Chicago

October 30, 2015
Berenz Law Network

It is important to take care of your own personal well-being and health after an accident in Chicago.

Seek all medical treatment for your accident related injuries immediately after the accident. Seeking medical treatment immediately is also crucial to your personal injury case.

Priority is always to take care of yourself and your loved ones. We also want to obtain the best settlement we can for you.

Insurance adjusters want to see documentation of your injuries. Medical records and opinions of doctors are the best supporting evidence of your injuries. If you do not seek medical treatment, or timely medical treatment, insurance adjusters will think you are not injured.

It is important to have insurance adjusters take your injuries seriously. This means you have to take your injuries seriously by seeking medical treatment immediately.

You also have to follow the doctor’s orders and make all scheduled appointments. You cannot just stop treatment because you are tired of going, or you do not have transportation, or your schedule does not permit it. DO NOT LET THAT HAPPEN!

If you are injured, you need to take care of your injuries…..for yourself and for your case.

The only time you should stop treatment is when you are released from treatment. At no other time should you stop treatment or have any “gaps” in treatment. Stopping treatment or having “gaps” in treatment is extremely detrimental to your well-being and your case and questions your credibility with insurance adjusters.

Deciding where to go for medical treatment is completely your choice and we can help to. But if you are injured, you must seek treatment immediately.

We cannot stress enough how important your medical treatment is to your well-being and to your case.

The purpose of seeking medical treatment is to get help for your injuries so you can heal. The purpose of medical records associated with that treatment is to document your injuries and have insurance adjusters take your injuries seriously.

Without proof of your injuries, you have no case.
