December 13, 2015 just before 4:30am- 2 injured in fiery crash

A fiery crash in the express lanes of outbound I—90/94 near 29th Street sent 2 people to the hospital. One person is listed in fair-to serious condition and the other had minor injuries. This is a developing story.

December 13, 2015 – 6 hospitalized

A vehicle coming off I-294 near 159th and Western rear-ended a Pace bus in Markham and sent 6 people to the hospital.

December 12, 2015 about 5:30pm – 1 person dead, 12 injured

A stolen vehicle fleeing police blew a stop sign and crashed into a van Saturday evening at 71st and Carpenter in Englewood. More than 50 fire personnel and 11 ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

The van was carrying 8 people, one of those people was pronounced dead. Five people were in serious-to-critical condition, four people were listed as fair-to-serious and four others were in good condition. It is believed the van was carrying several children.

December 11. 2015 – Woman struck and killed

Glenda Rea, a 61-year-old woman from Lake Station, was struck by a vehicle at 22nd and Ripley Streets in Lake Station, Indiana. She was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma at Methodist Hospital Northlake. Ms. Rea lived only three blocks north of the tragic accident.

December 6, 2015 about 11:20pm – Bicyclist killed, pedestrian injured

A gray sedan traveling near South Kostner Avenue and West 14th Street in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side struck and killed Robert Blount, a 55-year old man riding a bicycle, and then proceeded to strike a 45-year-old man walking nearby. Robert Blount was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital and the pedestrian was listed in stable condition at Mount Sinai. The driver of the vehicle was cited for driving without insurance and failure to reduce speed.

It is unfortunate the number of accidents that happen on a daily basis. The tragedies leave families and friends heartbroken and devastated.
